  • Deeper grooves and a new micro-milled Rotex face pattern give these wedges the most surface roughness the USGA will allow
  • Forth generation Tour Zip Grooves feature larger walls and sharper radii than ever before
  • Advanced, 2-pass micro milling pattern provides a strategically designed roughness close to the USGA limit
  • Fine tunes the micro-roughness for more consistency and texture across the face

The evolution of the 588 Rotex wedge started by listening to the top players in the world. Listening to the demands a Keegan Bradley, Graeme McDowell or Hideki Matsuyama faces, week in and week out, from 125 yards and in. We then looked at what factors lead everyday players to succeed or fail in the scoring zone. After hundreds of hours of interviews and field testing, we identified a common need for all golfers, regardless of ability level: Versatility. From that research we developed 3 distinc

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
    1. Excepting the wear on of the black coating, I’d give these 4 1/2 stars. I purchased 3 in different lofts, but currently have and now use 2 of these: a 46 degree as a GW and a 54 degree bent to 52 degree to reduce bounce. They have a nice feel and enough metal cut away on both the toe and heel to make them versatile via opening the face.
    .
    2. (fyi) I have purchased and used: 2 Mizuno S5 Wedges, a Mizuno JPX S2 Wedge (for my bride), a Pinemeadow Pre Wedge (for my son-in-law), TaylorMade TP Wedge, and a (Currently in use) Callaway Mack Daddy 3 Black W-Grind Wedge (56d bent to 58d to increase loft for sand use).
    .
    3. Far and away the Mack Daddy 3 Callaway Men’s Mack Daddy 3 Black W-Grind Wedge, Right Hand (S300, 60-11) is the best of the lot. It feels about the same as the Cleveland wedges, but the black coating is much more durable.
    4. I use a sub-tour ball Srixon 2015 Q-Star Golf Ball (1 Dozen), Pure White, but the spin I get from the Cleveland (46 & 54) wedges and Callaway wedge (56) is exceptional as far as my I can judge in experiences over 35 years of golfing.
    .
    5. If I was brave enough to start over from scratch and buy new wedges ($$$), I believe I’d go with all Mack Daddy 3s . . .
    .
Hope this helps some of you golfers . . .
